Tim Cooper Nominated Councilor for the SW New Mexico Region at the New Mexico Pharmacists Association Meeting

Tim Cooper represented WSPC at the New Mexico Pharmacists Association (NMPhA) 2019 Midwinter Meeting where he participated in the board meeting and breakfast meetings.

Tim was nominated Councilor for the Southwest New Mexico Region and serves as Councilor with a pharmacist. In this position, he is responsible for raising awareness for the New Mexico Pharmacists Association as well as providing continuing education opportunities.

“It is important, as pharmacy margins continue to decrease, that the association is helping pharmacy professional development through scholarships and legislation.”
The NMPhA works to develop pharmacy professional services and government affairs representation. Tim says, “When I started working in the pharmacy wholesale industry over 15 years ago, I wanted to get a better understanding of the issues that impact pharmacies. It is important, as pharmacy margins continue to decrease, that the association is helping pharmacy professional development through scholarships and legislation.”

Tim is also involved in the NMPhA Wholesalers Golf Tournament that supports the organization’s services. Each year, Tim presents the plaque for their Legend of Pharmacy Award. He researches the nominated individual, locates the family, and interviews them, then creates the story and the presentation. This year’s Legend of Pharmacy Award went to Peter Lee.
