NCPA Offers Recommendations as Congress Considers Health Care Changes

NCPA Advocacy Center Update, January 7, 2017

A letter was sent to U.S. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and GOP chairs of the House Ways and Means Committee; House Energy and Commerce Committee; and House Education and Workforce Committee as they consider ACA replacement package ideas. A letter was also sent to U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), chair of the Senate Finance Committee, who had previously solicited ideas for Medicaid changes.

In the letters NCPA offers recommendations on ACA replacement including provisions that should be maintained in any replacement package. NCPA also offers guiding principles that should be incorporated in any Medicaid overhaul to ensure cost savings and successful patient outcomes.
