Western States Pharmacy Coalition represented members recently at the North West Pharmacy convention in June at the Coeur D’Alene Resort in Idaho. WSPC is actively representing and advocating on behalf of independent pharmacies, promoting health and prosperity of the profession. Conversations at the NW Pharmacy Convention centered around the important role of community independent pharmacy in the future of patient care.
Dirk White, RPh, engaged attendees regarding some of the legislative hurdles we now face in our practice. He has years of experience working in community pharmacy and legislative advocacy. Dirk also explained how WSPC is focusing on improving community pharmacy’s position in the industry. Our relationship with AmerisourceBergen and Good Neighbor Pharmacy® has brought huge successes to our cooperative.
Dirk also discussed some of the regulatory issues we are currently facing with Dean Paul Cady from Idaho State University. It’s important to engage our academic leaders from the many pharmacy schools around the country.
Our mission is to provide outstanding independent pharmacies with a competitive edge. We live our mission by delivering cost management solutions, integrated business relationships, and a strong legislative voice.
WSPC is involved from the time a student is in pharmacy school through their career in community pharmacy. WSPC is committed to being involved in helping that young pharmacist enter into community pharmacy, grow and prosper through their career, and help that pharmacist go on to create a bridge for the next entrepreneur to carry on the practice. Our commitment was reflected in our presence at the NW Pharmacy Convention. Mark your calendars for next year’s event May 30 through June 5, 2017 at The Coeur D’Alene Resort in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
