The executive board and leadership team met February 7- 9 in Scottsdale, Arizona, for the Annual Leadership and Membership Meetings. Among the topics discussed were strategic planning, financial reports, supplier updates, strategic business managers’ activity, and communication updates for WSPC members for 2017.
We also had the benefit of AmerisourceBergen’s senior leadership attending WSPC’s Annual Leadership Meeting as keynote speakers and sharing their insights on many pertinent aspects of our business:
Peter Kounelis, RPh, and Beth Lea led an engaging, candid discussion focused on key market forces affecting independent pharmacy during 2017, including price inflation and deflation, PBMs, and DIR fees. He also presented solutions like the Five-Star Rebate, which is being developed to help our members stay profitable.
AmerisourceBergen’s sales leadership team, Steve Hendrickson, Deanna Bush, Jeff Sharkey, and Bill Rowley, presented a refreshing view into ABC’s 2017 sales strategy, which is built upon increasing direct collaboration with WSPC and tailoring solutions for our group that maximize current members’ value and grow our overall membership.
Lastly, Brian Nightengale, RPh, PhD, shared the path Good Neighbor Pharmacy is pursuing in 2017, how WSPC can directly benefit from existing and new programs and services, and how AmerisourceBergen is enhancing its offerings to WSPC Membership by exploring specialty solutions.
